Small Ecommerce Website (from £450)
Small ecommerce websites are the same as brochure websites but have the added functionality of being able to sell a small quantity of products via a shopping cart/checkout. This option is best suited to those with static products & pricing strategies. If your products/prices continually change throughout the year your best option is the full ecommerce website.
With brochure websites you can only inform visitors about products/services in the hope of generating an offline enquiry and/or email enquiry. Ecommerce websites take user interaction to another level. You can actually offer your products for online purchase through a shopping cart/checkout system.
Small ecommerce websites should only consist of 10-20 products, any more products and you should be looking at a full ecommerce site. However, this package is ideal for those companies who want to start making money directly from their website.
In addition to standard web content we would require product information including price, weight, descriptions and images. You should also consider how you will be accepting payment and how much you will be charging for postage.
Annual hosting is charged at £79.99/year for the 500mb package.
Drumscreens enquired about redesigning their existing brochure site. Their website (www.drumscreens.co.uk) was generating lots of hits and plenty of offline enquiries but the site owner knew it could perform better.
We used the existing domain name and content to design a fresh new look. We then added ecommerce functionality to the product pages so people could buy direct from the site. Not only did this save time and generate actual sales but it also increased offline sales leads.
The drumscreens are available in 3 different sizes and there is also a carry bag available for purchase. Having less than 5 products makes the small ecommerce website the perfect option for them. Plans to extend the product range may result in an upgrade to a full ecommerce site - especially if sales increase!
The site has 4 pages introducing the company and it's products (the brochure site) then there are 4 product pages with the opportunity to buy online.
All images and text was taken from the original site. The redesign involved a new logo and banner image along with new buttons, colours, fonts, links and layout.
